One Love Ministries - MCC Austin Texas - 8601 South 1st Street, Austin, TX 78748

On Saturday March 7, members of MCCA's diversity ministry, formerly known as African American Diversity Ministry (AADM), voted to accept a proposal to change the organizational structure and name of the ministry. AADM, which was started in August 2007, successfully met its goals and objectives of encouraging more participation by African Americans in worship and ministry; sharing information and consulting with our Pastor and church leaders about diversity and multiculturalism; and sponsoring social and educational activities for the congregation that promote diversity. Given these accomplishments, the ministry's leadership identified the need to expand the impact and focus of the diversity ministry to include the special interests and spiritual needs of more people and groups. The proposal for ministry change reflected MCCA's priority of radical inclusivity and its core value of diversity.

One Love Ministries (OLM) will provide additional opportunities for members and friends to work together on common interests, give input and become more involved in processes and activities that relate to worship and congregational life at MCCA. OLM will also offer connections for visitors who come ready to get involved in ministry and build new relationships. OLM will serve as the church's vehicle for radical inclusivity and strengthen its commitment to becoming a church without walls.

One Love Ministries is growing from the bottom up and there is room for your input at the table of participation. If you are interested in joining this ministry or receiving a copy of the proposal with detailed information, contact Jackie Gray at olm@mccaustin.com.
